Who is projects review for?
Informal student discussions with AALAWuN in term 3, 2025 addressed the question “Why I think this work is worth discussing?”.
Strong desires surfaced for more cross unit discussions, particularly work in progress and how it is presented . Crits exclude unscripted critical participation. Assessments and Projects Review, present a fait accomplis, a choreographed display of finished work.
AALAWuN ,with a number of Intermediate and Diploma students, along with invited artists and thinkers with an invested knowledge in the premise of the proposal, will construct situations giving students across the entire school agency to explore these rarely questioned important moments in the life of a student’s learning journey .
These situations will achieve this by using modes of presentation that are kinetic and constantly reset.
Location AA Gallery/ Front Member’s room/ transitional and under-looked spaces around the AA.

Do you think that being clear as a student is a good thing? It’s virtuous? Where does the virtue in being clear lie?
…’we’re only at the beginning of our awareness of how sentient and powerful plants are. We don’t really understand the genesis of life on the planet, how intricately connected it is to forms of plant life. Like, if you take them into your body and you talk with them in an altered state of consciousness you realise that these plants are conscious, they’re our elders in a sense…some of the unexplored dimensions of life on earth are, to do with what we know and what we’re about to learn from other forms of life, in particular, plant life.

While both “simulation” and “simulacrum” involve representation, a simulation imitates real-world processes or systems, while a simulacrum is a copy or representation that either had no original or where the original is no longer relevant, often blurring the lines between reality and representation.
